The S.S. Waikato.
The Cape Nelson signal station has telegraphed that the steamer Uijna has reported that on her voyage from Mauritius to Newcastle, she passed the steamer Asloun with the disabled Waikato in tow and that the Asloun expected to reach Fremantle, Western Australia, with her charge on the 7th instant.
[According to Sydney shipping list* the British- India steamer Ujina is bound from Calcutta to Melbourne and Newcastle. The Asloun, which is a vessel of 2828 tons, commanded by Captain Steele, left London ou the sth August for Sydney via Western Australian ports. Cape Nelson is the central and southern extremity of Portland Peninsula, Victoria.]
