The Wedding Ball.

On Thursday evening Mr and Mrs Charles H. Symons entertained a very 1 irge number of friends at a ball at the Public Hall in celebration of their daughter's marriage on the same afternoon. There must have been over 100 present, who all appeared to have enjoyed themselves immensely. The music was provided by Messrs Tombs (piano) and Pickering (cornet), of Palmerston.

Mr and Mrs Toogood assisted Mrs Symons in looking after her numerous guests. The hall had been tastefully decorated with bunches of green flax, cabbage trees and greenery on the walls and along the front of the stage. Mrs Charles Robinson, Miss Symons and Mr Ellery Toogood were responsible for the decorations, and were frequently congratulated on their success. The bell which had hung o'er the bride in the church was suspended over the stage in the hall. The floor was in capital order and dancing was no work but a pleasureable delight. Refreshments in keeping with the evening were available at all times. Dancing commenced at 9 p.m. and was not finished until 3 a.m.
