Wedding.

TOOGOOD— SYMONS.

This afternoon the daughter of one of Foxton's oldest settlers was united in matrimony to the son of Mr Toogood of Featherston, at All Saints Church. The contracting parties being Miss Elizabeth Mary Symons, sixth daughter of Mr and Mrs Charles Henry Symons, and Mr Alexander Toogood, eldest son of Mr William Toogood. The Rev. Hugh S. Leach performed the ceremony, which was a full choral one. The bride, who was attired in white surah silk trimmed with pearl trimming and chiffon, with the usual veil and wreath, looked charming, and was. given away by her father. The bridesmaids were the Misses Emily Symons, sister qf the bride, and Hilda and May Collins, nieces of the bride. They wore cream silk dresses trimmed with cream chiffon and cream ribbons, with cream straw hats trimmed with chiffon and feathers. The bridegroom was attended by Messrs Ellery Toogood and Oliver Smith. As the married couple left the church Mr England played the Wedding March. As is usual on such occassions the little church was packed. Only the relatives of the contracting parties were invited to the bride's parents residence where afternoon tea ( was served. In the afternoon Mr and Mrs Alexander Toogood left by train on ' their honeymoon trip to Wanganui on ' their way to Auckland. I

The bride's travelling dress was of heliotrope cloth with white felt hat. A very large number of presents were received, showing the popularity of the young people. The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a granny chain and a shower boquet, and to the bridesmaids. Miss Emily Symons a gold bracelet, and to the Misses Hilda and May Collins, gold brooches. To-night a large dance is to he given in celebration of the above happy event. Good musicians from Palmerston have been secured.
