Foxton Mutual Improvement Society.
Last night the members of the above society held their final meeting of the season in the Methodist Schoolroom. The Rev. W. Woollass, the President, occupied the chair. The President read the Treasurer's balance sheet, which showed the income to be £j 17s 6d, and the expenditure £4 17s 6d, leaving a credit baftnce of £3. During the evening the President mofced a special vote of thanks to the vice-presidents, secretaries, treasurer, and the speakers of the session, for the able manner they had conducted their duties. Refreshments, provided by the caterers, Messrs Perreau Bros., were handed round during the evening. The following musical programme was submitted: — Miss Osborne, a piano solo ; Miss Simpson, two songs, " Mona," and the " Link Divine " ; Mr A. Saunders, an Irish song ; Rev. W. Woollass, two songs, " Home boys Home," and " Love's old sweet song " ; Miss E. Perreau and Mr Morgan gave recitations, Mrs Woollass sang a song to her own accompaniment. The meeting was concluded by singing the National Anthem.
