France.
The French, German and Italian Governments were willing to acquiesce in the proposal of Maitre Labori, senior counsel for Dreyfu* that the military attaches of the embassies of foreign Powers in Paris should be examined by a Commission a<? to what they know of the case. On application being made by Maitre Labori to the court-martial, however, its President (Colonel Jouaust) refused to grant the required commission. This action on the part of the Court is interpreted as a signal that it itends to acquit the prisoner.
