Messrs Abraham apd Williami report:— At Ptlraerston on Thursday we had a good yarding of cattle, over 500 head coming forward and an average entry of sheep. The cattle entry was composed chiefly of 8 & 4 year steers, which fully maintained last weeks' quotation, the line of 800 2£ to 3 year steers passed in an auction being afterward? disposed oi at £3 Isi. Tbe sheep yarded were principally good forward wethers for which an unsatisfied demand existed, and a decided improvement was noticeable in the general tone of the market, every pen being sold nrider the hammer at an advance on recent prices. We quote : —Fat bullocks (small), £5 17i 61; forward bullocks/ £4 17s; 3 and 4-year steers, £4. 8s to £4 Bi6d; 8} to 8 year steers, £8 15 ? ; springing cows, to £4 10a to £5 ; springing heifers, £4 12a 6d to £5 ; heifers in calf, £8 7* 6i to £3 10.4 ; wcaners, 144 to 19i ; fat heilers 'lighs weight;, £8 ; fat and forward wethers 12? 7d to 13?; forward wethers 113 lOi to 12 < 4d ; fat 'and forward ew»B, 9? 4d to 9i lid ; store pig*, 10a 6d to 15s ; porkers, £1 ; weanera, 6181 to B<6l.
