France. Colonel Cordier, of the Intelligence Department of the War Office, bagiven evidence before the Bennes oourt-raartial strongly supporting the theory of Dreyfus'a innocence, and tha implication of Esterbazy and the late Colonel Henry. He also declared that General Boget'r» evidenoa was false from beginning to end. He alleged that when Dreyfus was writing the dictation test at the first trial a man was listening and observing behind a curtain . As the witness stated that M. de Freycinet was aware that 85,000,000 frances had been raised already to defend Dreyfus, M. de Freycinet was examined. After a long and eloquent speech tha ex-Minister of War admitted ib reply to Maitre Labori's questions, that he was unable to cite a fact which would prove that foreign money had been subscribed for the defence. Acting under Government direc tion, the Public Prosecutor asked the court for a Commission to examine Dv Paty de Clam. The newspaper " L'Aurore " has published 500 letters and telegrams Bhowing Esterhazy's movements during 1898 and 1894. They generally confirm the theory of his guilt.
