Freaks of a Tornado.

The wind played some extraordinary freaks in a tornado which destroyed the town of New Richmond, Wisconsin, a few days ago. The upper portion of a residence was swept clean away, leaving only the ground floor, which was cleared of all its fucniture except a safe weighing 400 pounds, and a Sevres clock weighing 'Seven pounds. The clock, which was unharmed, was found standing upright on the floor. A maple tree was completely stripped of its bark, the branches being left perfectly white, while a china mug was blown through the air and caught its handle on an upper branch where it hung uninjured. A house was blown away, but a pile of loo3e wood in the yard of the house was not disturbed. A woman was lifted by the storm and carried several hundred yards and finally deposited in a tree, where she was discovered by the rescuing party slightly wounded. A horse was blown into a church steeple and wedged between the bell and the wall and killed.

Another horse was blown from its stall through a closed stable door, and upon a heap of debris ten feet high, where it was fonnd dead but the stable sustained very little damage.
