A Golden Wedding.

r— ♦— Yesterday Mr ana Mr 3 E.P.Osburne Celebrated their golden wedding- 50 year* of happy married life, and both still blessed wjth health and strength. We, in common with their many friends offer our hearty congratula tiona to these worthy townspeople, and trust they may see and celebrate their diamond wedding. Mr and Mrs Osborne are both native? of the beautiful Inland of Jersey, and were married there and in business for many years. It wa* on the 28 h August 1849 that Mr Edward Oafiorne was married to Miss Susan Annie Eliza Syms,- at the Zton Church St He Hers. For eight and a half years Mr Osborne occupied a position in the Customs on his native island, and resigning, took up the business of auctioneering which he relinquished only wjaen he Teffc for New Zealand in September, ,v-fcß2. Their eldest daughter was ''tarried the RbV. M. Squire? and at the birth of the first ohild. a daughter, died, and the parents felt this loss so keenly that felt they could not remain in Jersey. The little grandchild accompanied them to this colony, but does net survive. The issue of the marriage has been four sons and time daughters, five of whom are now living viz:— Mrs Bullard, Mrs T. Nye, Messrs Augustus Osborne, who resides in London, and Mesßi? Edmund and Archibald Osborno who are well -known here.
