H In replying, Mr Seddon declareß that he was sure the saying coulß not be held to apply to either himH self or Mr Piram, especially not tfl "the latter, for the member for PalH meraton never slept. This was fl pretty smart rejoinder, but theT Premier proceeded to go one better. Taking np the Reader, he said that it contaned another passage which Mr Pirani had evidently mis Fed. It was as follows: — "David therefore' escaped thence, and escaped to the cave of Adullam, and everyone that was in distress and everyone that was in debt and everyone that wa? discontented gathered themselves onto them, and he became captain - over them." The House laughed consumedly as Mr Seddon proceeded to pay thaV thpy would now understand why tb» Department bacl experimented in sending the Reader in question to the Wanganui Education Board, of which tbe member for Palmerstoo was a member. -W.
