The Philippines.
The American troops have received another severe reverse in the campaign against the Filipinos. The Filipinos formed an ambuscade at Dazmarinas and when the American troops drew near, quite unconscious of the presence of \.guinaldo's forces, they fell upon a bittalion of the Americana, and played great havoc. After an hour's desperate fighting and when the ammunition was nearly exhausted, reinf >reements for -the Americans arrived and drove off the Filipinos, and rescued the battalion. There w«re forty casualties on the American side. Undeterred by their previous reverse at Lazim*rinas,» where they fall into an ambuscade and lo3t forty men, the American have attacked and captured the town.
