July.— Panh on the work af tree »od shrub planting, as the time for this class of planting will soon be past. Begin sowing hardy annuals in the open ground. Get hot beds ready for seed-raising, &c. Seed of Tuberous Begonia sown in heat this month can be got into flower by the end of January. Sow ihe seed thinly, and prick off as soon a? possible. Sow Gloxinia, Cyclamen, double Petunia, Coleus, &c, Cucamber, and Mellon. Cinerarias in flower must be kept clean by fumigating and dusting with tobacco powder, or thpy will soon stop growing. Sow a tall variety of Pea Stnd nonce onward at fort nightly intervals till Christmas. Spinach should be sown frequently, aa it makes a good stand by. Plant Rhubarb, Jerusalem Artiobokes, and early Potatoes. If the soil is dry enough, sow Onion, Bed Beet, and Carrot. Lattuce, Badish, Cabbage. and Cauliflower should be sown, and the state of the ground is not so material. Get ground ready for new Asparagus beds ; trench deeply, and work in plenty of manure. Any vacant ground should be dug or trenched, manure well, and use plenty of bone dust, whether foi fruit, flowers, or vegetables ; it often supplies «he missing link required t» make (and fertile.
