1 Messrs Wed.Ml and Co. early in May report : — Until within the past few days the market for New Z -aland flix remained firm, and prices were steady for all descriptions, but the oesnation of hostilities in the Philippines has for the time dt mo ralised the market, and in the ab aenoe of buyers values are uncer tain. Manila i 3 at least £5 to £ 6, and New Zealand £2 per ton lower than it was a few weeka ago. During the month the sale 3of New Zealand flax amounted to about 250 tons, ohiefly from second hands. Sisal is weak at £84 per ton c.i.f. Superior New Zealand, soft and bright, is quoted at £26 to £27 per ton ; good medium, well dressed, £25 to £25 10j ; fair medium to medium, £24 to £25 10a ; fair medium to medium, rather strawy, £23 to £23 10a; tow, £5 to £6 per lon.— Post.
