» The adjourned fiftieth annual meeting of the Australian Mutual Provident Society was held in the board room of the society's head offioe, Pitt Street, Sydney, on 25th ____£ay. In tbe absence of Sir Joseph Ahbotl, the chairman, from town, the deputy-chairman, Mr Thomas Little johii, presided. He read the report of the presiding officer on the result
of the voting for the election of three directors which was as follows : Mr Reginald J. Black, 64,144 vote*; Mr Thomas Littlej'ibn. 57.578 ; Mr B-njamin Short. 47,391 ; Mr F. E. Winchcombe, 28 888 ; Mr Robert J. King, 22,803; Mr W. T. D ck, 7809. The three first named gentlemen were therefore declared duly elected, and returned thanks to the members for their election. At the special meeting of the board of the A.M P. Society held immediately after the close of the adjourned annual meeting, Sir Joseph Abbott and Mr Tbomas Lit tl- john were unanimously reelected chairman aod deputy-chairman respectively for the ensuing year.
