Eleven O'Clock Licenses.

At a long sitting of the Egmont Licensing Committee, at Stratford on June 6 the extension to eleven o'clock was rt fused. The application was supported by Mr Samuel, New Plymouth, solicitor, and Messrs Malone and Fookes, Stratford, solicitors. The police strongly opposed the extension. Mr Wake, solicitor, Stratford, representing the various temperance organisations, and aho opposed the fxtention. Mr Stanford, S M., said he was satisfied the public feeling wa3 against the extension, which he accordingly refused. The Court was crowded.
