A Policeman lost.

A Home paper of 9th April records that some 3 or 4 days ago a constable of the Kent County Con fcibulary was commissioned by bis sergeant to serve a summons upon a gipsy to appear before the magistrates on a minor oharge. He left the policestation well in health, and in order to serve the summons had to proceed to a gipsy encampment in a rather lonely part of the country, near Shepherd's Well. About a mile before reaching the encampment he was seen by one of the local con stables. Since then he has not been heard of, and the gravest anxiety is being felt on his behalf The police authorities have a suspicion that he was set upon by the gipsies, and this fear is strengthened by the flight of the gang. It is stated that the missing constable was in no financial difficulties, and the idea of suicide is not entertained by those who know him best.
