Fatal Accident.

■ . » „ ... Yesterday afternoon a man named William Brittain fell off a dray and had his head crushed under the wheel, killing him at once. In the afternoon Mr John Andrews passed through the Main street with a load of coal, for Mardon's mill and picked up William Brittain to take him out to work. The man appeared to be under the influence of drink, bnt was got upon the dray with some assistance, when opposite Messrs Walsb and Howard's slaughter house, Brittian fell ofF With the unfortunate result above stated. On his person was found one shilling ! and a bottle of whisky. An inquest will be held to-day. The deceased has apparently no relations or friends in this district. He will be buried tomorrow afiernoon.
