The Perthshire.
CAPT. COZENS BOARDS HER. The Wbangaroa, Bigbted the Perthshire at midnight on the 12th inst. She was then 450 miles east of Sydney. Captain Cozens, hoarded her on Saturday, and ascertained that she had broken her tail-shaft when two days oat from Sydney harbour. When the Perthshire was found she was lying between the tracks of the Auckland and the Wellington steamers. The captain of the Perthshire wished to return to Sydney. The vessel's position was longti tude l6odeg lOmin east, latitude 85deg 20min south, and she was drifting backwards and forwards about twenty miles a day, bearing eastwards. When the Wbangaroa left the Perthshire she enoounted roughish weather. All on board the Perthshire were well. The tug Champion left Sydney on Sunday night on a search expedition. Two more tugs have been sent to ■earch for the Perthshire, The Mokoia which sailed on Saturday, is to keep a look out for the vessel. Strong westerly winds are B6w blowing, and it is expected the Perthshire will drift towards New Zealand. , j The shaft Broke in the tube, and it was impossible to mend it ; but it was tecured. The vessel failed to make any progress under sail.
