OROUAS v. CARAMUT.
The repult of this game has been announced by cable some time and was won by the Orouas by 6 to 5 goale. The Geelong Times thus critioes the y'ny : Taken right through the play wa3 wonderfully even, though the styles of tho players were much apart. The Western district men worked alone; the boundaries, while opponents invariably made for the centre, where there was always someone ready to take it on. The back-biting all round was not np to the standard, but the driving was capital. The Garamut ponies appeared to have a deal more pace than the Maoris, consequently the Maori, landers had not so many opportunities of showing their cleverness at riding off. But the New Zealand are marvellously quick, and appear to follow the ball without being led. The game at times was decidedly rough, and the spectators enjoyed it thoroughly. Without doubt, the most brilliant man on the ground was J. Strang. His work throughout was of the finest, and he was repeatedly applauded. He was ably seoonded by Baker, who put in many fine run?, his driving being aconrate and strong. A. Strang got in a lot of useful work, and Robinson's defence and driving off was a distinct feature in the game.
