Well Preserved Head.
In the church of Holy Trinity, the Minorie?, Jxmdon, there is a curious relic of past ages, in the decollated head of Henry Grey, Duke of Suffolk, who suffered on Tower Hill on February 22nd, 1554, for compi. cuy in Sir Thomas Wyati'a rebellion. He was the father of Lidy Jane Grey, and was implicated in the treasonable acts which placed her for a few short days on the Thrcne. The grialy relic, whioh was found years ago beneath the altar of the church, ia now in a glass case. Iti remarkable preservation ia du^pf the oak sawdust with whioh it was found to have been packed, and the strokes of the executioner's axe ara plainly visible on the neok. Iq the
collection of the Marquis of Salis bury is a portrait of the Duke which (for all the difference of bsard aud moustache being gonp). identifies the mummified head even at this length of time.
