Foxton Borough Council

The Borough Council held a meeting on Tuesday evening to open tenders. Three tenders were received for leasing the Wirokinojferry, from W. Howe at £$z, J. Hillary £Boless £27 for shifting the ferry gear, and Piggott at £80 and to shift the feiry free. Mr Piggott's tender was accepted. There was only one tender sent in for cleaning drains and that from Andrews and Webb. The price was

five shillings a chain for outlet drains by Symons', and five shillings and itJ r threepence a chain for the Avenue. Councillors were of the opinion that the amount was rather much, and decided to do the Avenue drain themselves, but let the work at Symons' outlet.
