Meeting of Flaxmillers.

On Tuesday evening a meeting of flaxmillers was held at Mr Darville's Post Office Hotel.

. Mr C.Austin was elected chairman, and he explained the object of calling the meeting. . , / After some discussion, it warf*|aroposed by Mr Geo. Coley, and seconded by Mr King — That this meeting appeals against having to use loose pulleys on spindles of machinery, as they are considered by flaxmillers and experienced flaxmill hands as very dangerous to persons working in the vicinity of flax machinery. Carried unanimously.

Proposed by Mr H. Coley, and Mr Austin seconded, That this appeal be laid tafore the Stipendiary Magistrate at Foxton. Carried.

At the conclusion of the meeting the flaxmillers present signed the pro* posals as above, and agreed to attend

the Court in a body, and support the resolutions.

The following flaxmillers signed their names to the appeal : — Messrs G. Coley, B. Austin, H. Coley, J. Symons, Geo. Watson, A. King, C. Austin and A. Baker.
