Arrival of Whangaroa.
1 • Messrs Gamman & Co.'s schooner arrived here on 20th inst. from Newcastle, N.S.W., sailing right up to the wharf, and berthing at 5 p.m. Captain Cozens reports of the round voyage : Left Foxton on 10th March for Sydney. Experienced variable weather, mostly fine until arrival at Sydney on 23rd March. Sailed thence for Newcastle on 30th sama month. A delay ot a week was met with then owing to Easter holidays intervening. Even- J tually sailed trom Newcastle for Foxton on 7th inst., and after experiencing a succession of strong southerly and S.E. winds, arrived off bar on 19th too late for tide. Stood off and on, and sailed ia on aoth, berthing as above.
The round trip has been completed two days short of six weeks, and tak- • ing into consideration the delay met with through holidays, etc., at the other side' fully maintains the " Whangaroa's " reputation for making regular passages. She brings a full cargo, consisting of 230 tons best Hetton coal on her owner's account.
