Heasman and Baker v. J. Campbell. — Claim, £5 10s. No appearance of defendant. Judgment for amount and costs, 14s. i P. Guerin v. E. Battersby.— Claim, £4 15s for rent. No appearance of defendant. Judgment for amount and costs ss. CRIMINAL. ! Samuel Rountree charged John Dobson with assault. Defendant deI nied the assault. Samuel Rountree deposed : On Saturday, Bth April, they were sitting at the table at tea. There was pushing, and he put out his foot to keep his place. Defendant hit him on the ear, and told him that would make him j move. I Alfred Gimlett remembered the Saturday, and was sitting opposite. Saw the crushing, but did not see Dobson hit plaintiff. Heard it said by plain- ■ tiff " I will fetch you as a witness," v *f, but said it was of no use. Defendant said they were sitting at tea when there were eight on the form that would only hold six. Was third man off Rountree who they were put- ! ting off. Got up and told him I should i hit him if he did not move— but I never did hit him. . j The case was dismissed. r
