The account was objected to owing to the items not having been given an 4 was sent to the artist for revision, when the responsible persons received the following quaint information — « Correcting the Ten Commandments (!) ; embellishing Pontius Pilate, also putting new ribbons to his hatj repairing arid gilding the left wing of the Guardian Angel ; washing the servant -of the High Priest, and putting carmine on his cheeks; renewing heaven (!) ; adjusting two stars -and 11 cleaning the moon; revising the name of Hell ; putting a new tail on the devil, mending his left hoof, also doing several jobs for the damned ; rebordered the robe of Herod anel adjusted his wigs ; putting mw spotted dashes on the 3on of Tobias, and a dressing on his sick ; cleaning the ears of Balaam's Ass and also shod him; putting earings in the«arsof Sarah, and renewing the stones in David's- sling; enlarging the head of Goliath and extending his legsj" decorating Npah's Ark and the shirt of the Prodigal "Son."
