Remarkable Surgical Case.
A correspondent, writing to the " Hawke's Bay Herald " records the almost marvellous recovery of his son from a flaidical tumor on the liver. About three months ago he went to the Waipukurau Hospital in an emaciated condition, which showed to bid friends all too plainly that the insidious and dreadful disease was fast taking bis life away. 'Even the medical men seemtd to think he would never recover. But Drs Reed and Godfery opened hit cheßt and removed the tumor, the first d.dcharge being about onto and a half gallons. For a long time the patient lay in a ortiical condition but ihanki to the skill of the doctors and the constant and practical attention of the nurse?, he has now so far recovered as jo be able to return home. He now has a tube inserted into hi 3 cheat, and it will be some time before he is thoroughly sound, but he is in splendid general health. Whatever may be thought of the cure among the medical profession, it is considered a wonderful thingamonget lavmpn who know the oasa thorouslv.
