Wirokino Bridge,

< His Worship the Mayor returned home to-day and informs us that the tender of Maurice O'Connor, for the amount of £4352 19s. Bd. has been accepted for the erection of the Wirokino bridge. The sureties are men of undoubted financial stability, and tht contrator js a man of great experience and has just completed a contract in the harbour. The time given to complete the work is fourteen months from yesterday when the contract was signed. There were three other tenders received (one of which was informal) that of T. McGrath & Co, being for £4796, and that of J. Saunders for ■£5122 2s. 1 id.
