The steamer Belgica, which conveyed Lieutenant; de Gerlacha'b xp^didon to Antarctica, has arrived it Punta Arena?, on the Hegelian Straits.
The vessel was icebound for two months.
A new land was discovered 'in the Weddell Sea, and open water waa seen reaching fir to the South.
A number of active volcanoes was ilho discovered.
Tba vessel will not return for .mother wintwr.
