Death of Prince Alfred of Saxe-Coburg.

■■ ■ ■ ♦ The Morning Leader publishes the following despatch from Meran, in the Austrian Tyrol :— " Nothing could be sadder than the circum- -f; stances attending the death of Prince Alfred of Saxe C >burg on Monday in this lonely spot, left alone by his friends and surrounded by strange faces. There is a cert iin mystery enveloping the whale affair. When he arrived a fortnight ago ihe young Prinoe wa=? already deranged and # t dying. Yet he was aooompanied by only a single doctor. H<* was so weak that he conld not stand. Afe P* times he was unable even fo convey bis food to his mouth. He raved in his delirium of his childhood, relatives and comrades, and frequent fits of violence, -during which he suffered agony and would cry Uke a child, begging his fit her and mother in heartrending terma to Bave him from the awful pains in bis head. Towards the end these pains increased, causing frightful scenes. He died in a delirium, alone with the two doctors entrusted with the case. It seems strange "that no relatives or friends were summoned to tbe death bed. The proprietor of the sani* torium declined to atate the cause of death, and the Begistrar at the Town HaU told me the death certificate was under look and key and would be shown to nobody."
