The Catholic concert last night was a great success in every way, and the audience, which was large, appreciated . both the items of the vocalists and the acting of members of the local Dramatic Club. The stage had been very prettily arranged for the first part, the evening's entertainment opening with a pianoforte duet by Misses Wallace and Campion. Mr Mcßain sang " Oh, Hear the Wild Winds Blow," and was loudly applauded. Misses Sullivan and M. Wallace contributed a pretty duet, entitled " Love's Seranade," and for a deserved encore repeated the last verse. Mr McGonagle sang a comic song in character " Old Man of the Yard," which seemed to amuse those present, and for an encore gave "McGee's Back Yard." Mrs Mcßain then contributed a solo " My Lady's Bower " and was the recipient of much applause. Mr Pearson recited " Hew We Beat the Favourite," and Miss Sullivan sang " Carmencita," both these performers receiving much applause. Master Hopepa sang " Macarthy's Mare," and received a decided encore. This performer returned and repeated the last verse. Miss Emma Spring sang " The Dear Little Shamrock," and in response to an encore repeated the last verse. Mr Border recited " The Three Shell-backs," and the solo by Miss M. Wallace " Meeting of the Waters " was much appreciated. •Mr Mcßain was next with " Mona," and Miss Campion played a pianoforte selection. Mr McGonagle then received an encore for another charncter song " Off to Philadelphia," and repeated the last verse. Miss B. Dudson recited " United Kingdom" very nicely, and repeated the latter part. Mr Borher gave a character song " Joe, the Marine," and the Misses Smith played a pianoforte duet. This concluded the first part, and as an overture for the second part Mr Milburn played some Irish selections. Mrs Carte\ Misses Wallace and Campion and Mr Milburn kindly acted as accompanists during the evening.
