CHURCH AND STATE. The memorial of the English Church Union, the representive of the High Church Party, was presented br a gathering of 700 delegates, representing 260 branches of <he Union. Lord Halifax, President of the Union, said that State disestablishment and disendowmant was prefer *ble to the surrender of doctrine. This sentiment was tumaltuoualy applauded. The Union press reprobates the memorial as untimely and indiscreet.
