The Yarra Tragedy.
RADALYSKI AND TOD FOUND GUILTY. After nearly six hours' deliberation the jury found Madame Radalyski and Travice Tod guilty of murder of the girl Mabel Ambrose, whose body was found in the Yarra, but added a rider recommending them to mercy. Dr Gaze was found not guilty. The recommendation of mercy was made on the ground that neither of the prisoners intended to wilfully com* mit murder. Madame Radalyski fainted for a few moments after the verdict was announced. The counsel for Tod closed an impressive speech by asking the jury to emulate Christ and set Tod free with the admonition to "go and sin no more." The speech caused great applauie in the Court, and there were cries of " Halleldjah " from the Salvation Army lassies. The disorder wa3 quickly suppressed. The prisoners were sentenced to death by Chief Justice Maddern, who, in addressing Radalyski, said she and others were carrying on a dreadful trade, with terrible results to the community. Tod, he said, like many others, had fallen into the trouble through thoughtlessness.
