A Veritable Sea-Serpent.
mi i ■■ ■■iumi 't t DISCOVERY OF REMAINS AT SUWARROW ISLAND. • The steamer Emu, which has arrived at Sydney, brought a portion of the remains of what is claimed to be a veritable sea-serpent. The remaina consist of two skulls, two backbones and a number of ribs. The monster was washed ashore two months before the steamer visited the island, and the fearful stench prevented the officers of the Emu securing the whole of the skeleton. The captain describes the fish ais being sixty feet long and weighing seventy tons. The sea serpent consisted of on« body with a double spine, and two distinct heads, somewhat resembling horses' heads. The skin was of si •brownish colour, and was covered!
with hair.
