A CLAIM TO A PEERAGE. It will be remembered that ia November last Mrs Druce obtained facility to open the grave of the late Mr T. 0. Druce, whom she alleged
to be the real Duko of Portland, id Bjghgate Cemetery. The surviving trustee, under Mr T. C. Druce'a will appealed against the opening. The Queen'd Bench of Judges has now 3ecided that the sanction of Sir W Ridley, Secretary to the Home Department, is necessary before the grave can be opened. AN ANNUITY FOR LORD KITCHENER. In the House of Commons Sir Michael Hicks-Baach, Chancellor of Exchequer, announced that a Bill will be introduced asking the sanction of Parliament to enable the Go vernment to set aside £80,000 to purchase an annuity for Lord Kitchener, the Sirdar of Egypt. SAFE ARRIVAL OF ONE OF THE MISSING STEAMERS. The missing steamer Pavonia has been towed to the Azores — all well. SCULLING CHAMPIONSHIP.
