The winner of any race after the declaration of weights to incur a penalty of 7lbs (not accumulative), in handicap events at the meeting. Nominations for all events, except Maiden Hack Races (first day) and Trial Hack Handicap (second day), close with the Secretary at Foxton on THURSDAY, December 29th, 1898, at 9 p.m. Weights for first day's races will be declared on or about gth January, 1899. Entries for Maiden Hack Race (first clay), and nominations for Trial Hack Handicap (second day), close on MONDAY, January 16th, 1899, at 9 p.m. Weights for second day's races will be declared on Monday, January 23rd, 1899, at about 8 p.m. Acceptances close same evening at 9.30 p.m. Acceptances for first day's races close on MONDAY, January 16th, 1899, at 9 p.m. DEFINITION OF HACKS. Hacks shall mean horses that have never won an advertised race exceeding the net sum or value of 40 soys at time of Start (Hack and Hunter Races expected.) RULES & REGULATIONS. In all nominations description, age and pedigree must be given, together with the colours of the rider. The advertised fee must in every case accompany nominations and acceptances. All races to be run under the " Rules of Racing." No betting allowed on the course except through the medium -of the totalisator.
