The members of the Liberal party will meet oo February 6th to elect Sir William V. Harcourt's successor to the leadership. Id a paper read at the Article Club by the Hon W. P. Reeves (Agent General for New Zealand), the author maintained that all experience showed that the trade followed the British flag the world over. The Amalgamated Society oi Engineers baa repaid loans amount ing to £50,000, raised in connection with the recent strike. It now possepses a reserve fund of £200.000. Obituary — Henry James Prince, who in 1845 founded Ghatlinch, an establishment known as Agapemone or the abode of love, where the followers lived in common and professed to devote themselves to innocent recreation and maintain spiritual marriage.
