A HORRIBLE GRIME

TRIPLE MURDER AND OUTRAGE. A horrible outrage and triple murder has been committed near Galton, in the Ipswich district, twenty-three miles west of Brisbane. , ■ Michael Murphy, aged twenty-nine, and his sisters Norah, twenty-seven years, and Ellen, eighteen years, attended a local race meeting and left on their return home in a dogcart at ten o'clock at night. Next morning the horse was found shot dead in the bush a short distance from the township. The three Murphys lay beside the cart with their skulls brutally smashed, apparently with a heavy stick. The hands of both the girls were tied behind their backs, and Norah had a strap fastened tightly, round her neck. Both had been cruelly outraged prior to their death. There is no clue to the identity of the perpetrators of the crime.
