COMMITTEE MEETING.
The committee then sat and duly -* appointed Mr G. Stiles as secretary, m and Mr Fraser as chairman. " Mr Stiles was requested to write at once to Mr Watson to learn in what manner assistance, if any, could be rendered. ;
with November rates, we think prices were at least $d per lb lower, the top price secured, viz 6sd per lb, being by us. The attendance of buyers, was good, but there was no animation in the bidding, and it was quite evident fram the outset that the recent unfavourable reports fron London had very seriously effected local views. The quality of the wool as a whole was not inviting, it being mostly tender and stained. We quote :— Fine greasy crossbred at up to 6f d per lb ; medium do., 5d to 6d ; coarse and log-stained, 4d to 4sd ; pieces and bellies, 3£d to sid; locks ad.
