The Philippines.
Admiral Dewey, Commander of tha American fleet in Philippine waters, reports that the Philippines are not likely to submit peacefully to the American occupation of the islands. The attitude of Agninaldo, | their leader, is, he says, very ugly. The United States Government is sending reinforcements of troops to the Philippines by way of the Mediterranean and the Suez Canal.
