As the train Approached the platform Heathcot's body became disengaged with the brake block and Iho wheel passed over his neck. The deceased was a young married man. Ha was an Englishman and had been about 1 ) years in the district, and may be remembered by educationalists as the patentee of the roller blackboard. From the fact that a few spots of blood were found on the platform of the carriage, it is suppssed that his nose bad been bleeding and t hit .he fell wh^n hanging out to let the drops fall clear of the carriage. The fatality, from the fact that the man was dragged a considerable distance, caused intense excitement among the passengers.
