One of the various applications of wifeless telegraphy to mpdern re £uir?|n£nts received an interesting JUjnsk¥stion at a regatta in Ireland, Signor Marconi demonstrated Swiidaptability of bi&jsystem to the m^fniasion of Press intelligence ftpm a steam launch in motion. The venting expert on deck dictated his fcfgbunt of the races while these 3Jsre in progress, and a stream of Stated •• copy " descended below Seek to Signor Marconi, who sat in « cabin working bis transmitter, whence the ether waves carried the news with a minimum loss of time to a fixed receiviug station on shore. Arrived at this point, the news was forwarded on to the Press offices by telephone. It is stated that one edition of the local paptr contained two whole columns of newa despatched entirely by wireless telegraphy. This notable event is undoubtedly the germ of an important development of wireless telegraphy in the near future. .
