Captain Edwin wires to-day: — Wind heavy gale soon with rain at all places northward of Timaru and Qneenstown, and gale with rain from same direction from thence southward, but changing after 10 hours to between W. and S.W. and S. Barometer farther fall everywhere^ but rising at all places southward of Timaru and Queenstown after 10 hours. Sea very heavy on West coast of North Island, heavy elsewhere North of East Cape and South of Napier. Tides high on all West coast and on East coast North of East Gape and South of Napier.
