Fashoda to be Evacuated.
It is semi-officially announoed that Fashoda will shortly he evacuated by Major Marchand. The French Geographical Society has sent greetings to General Kitchener, who, in return, eulogised Major Marchand. The late_t information shows that both sides are making war preparations, but the intention is said to be pacific. The Stock Exchange is steadier, and there is a general recovery in all class .a of stock. Consols are quoted at 108£. M. Ribot, a Progressist, who will probably be the new Premier, is a good friend to England.
