Armenia.
The mixed population of the town of Omzounli, in Armenia, lately complained of the action of the Turkish Government in removing them to another part of the country. The Turkish officials, imagining that the complaint was a prelude to a rebellion, despatched troops, who came into conflict with the townsmen.
Severe fighting resulted, in which 12 Armenians and 10 Turks wera killed, and 40 on both sides wounded.
