General Kitchener was given a magnificent reception on his return to Cairo from the front. After their recent repulse thp Dprvinhes rallied and again attacked K>daref. near the Abyssinian frontier but were repulsed with great daughter Sister Gregorini, belonging to the Catholic mission, who for 15 years was the Mahdi'a prisoner and wa* tortured, sold as a slave and forced to marry, along with five children, wao amongst the prisoners rescued nt Omdurman.
