SUBSIDY FOR WIROKINO BRIDGE. The Public Works Estimates were circulated on Tuesday night, and under the heading Bridges and approaches we find the following : — • Rangitikei (Mangaweka), £500 ; Rangitikei (Otara, £ for £), £1000 ; Rangitikei (Vinegar Hill, £ for £), £1000; Fitzherbert (£ for £), £1000; A'piti, £276; Manawatu. Wirokino (£ for £), £1000 ; Otaki bridges, £1000 ; Mangatainoka (Tutaekara crossing, £ for £), £800 ; Mangatainoka river (Hamua), £800 ; Mikimiki, £500; Makun-Pongaroa bridges, £400; Tauera (£ for £). £800; Waipoua river. £200; Ruamahanga (£ for £), £500. [Note.— This amount of £1000 for Wirokino Bridge we read to mean the amount required tor the financial year up to 31st March. It will be noticed that the vote is a £ for £ one. Ed. M.H.]
