Death of Mr Thomas Steelle.

We very much regret to announce the sudden death of Mr Thomas Steele. who was for some years Manager of the local branch of the Bank of New Zealand. To-day's N.Z. Times says, the Coroner, Mr James Ashcroft, yesterday held an inquest on the body of Mr Thomas Steele, who died suddenly at Tawa Flat. It appears that deceased, family live at Newtown, went to Tawa Flat to stay with his son for a change. His son left him at midday

on Saturday, and when he came back on 'Sunday night he found the place shut up. After effecting an entrance he discovered his father lying in bed dead. Medical evidence showed fatty degeneration of the heart; also that there was no food in the man's stomach. He had walked in from Johnsonville, and arrived at about io o'clock on Saturday night. As his heart was in this condition, the fact of his taking a long w?lk and having no supper was probably the cause of the heart failing. A verdict in accordance with this evidence was returned. Deceased, who was 54 years of age, was a retired office of the Bank of New Zealand.
