Railway Construction.
The half-million loan bill, intrcdaced on Friday into the House, provides for the following apportionment of the half-million proposed to be borrowed : Railway construction £176,000, railway rolling stock and sundry works £200,000, construction of roads, tracks, bridges, etc., in rasped of land settlement and gold. fields development £125,000. The lines scheduled under the first item (£175,000) are Whangarei-Kamo extension, Grahams town-Te Aroha. Helenaville northward, North Island Main Trunk, Eketahuna-Woodville, Blenheim-Awatere, Midland. Otago Central, Heriot extension, Seaward Bush, and Forest Hill. Tbe separatp amount allotted to each line will of course not be known until tbe Public Works Statement is brought down.
