Annual Missionary Meeting,
The above meeting was held last night at the Primitive Methodist Church \vhen there was a fair attendance. The Rev J. W. Hayward, of Fielding, was the Missionary deputation, and addressed the meeting, and gave an account of the Mission work in the colonies, dwelling more particularly on the Stratford-Eltbam Mission, he having laboured on that station for several years. He also touched on Foreign Mission work . in Central Africa. His account proved that the Primitive Methodist Mission : work in Central Africa was most successful and encouraging, and where the mission started with only.. a Minister and his wife, now consists of several Ministers including several native ones. Messrs S. Howan, Westwood and G. Grindley also addressed the meeting on their experience in Mission work in this colony and the Old Land. The chair was taken by the Circuit Steward, and a collection was tat&n up on behalf of the Home Missions, when a fair sum was received. Regret was expressed at the ' absence of the Rev Woollass, and it Was announced that possibly he might be able to take up his work in the course of the week. The Missionary services on this Circuit were considered fairly good.
