Nomination of Councillors.
Yesterday at noon the Returning Officer, J. McQueen, Esq., received the following nominations for three Councillors to fill the seats of the three who retire by rotation. There were five persons nominated, so that an election will be held on Thursday next from 9 o'clock a.m. to 6 o'clock p.m. Following are the persons nominated : — A. S. Easton, nominated by George Nye and W. G. White. William Purcell, nominated by P. J. Hennessy and E. J. B. Osborne. , Bernard Spelman,. nominated by Henry Bradcock and Abraham King, j J. W. Walsh, nominated by Thos. ' Westwood and T. J. Mitchell. Thos. Westwood, nominated by H. Coley and R. J. Barber.
